The holly bushes are doing well for berries in North London this year I have noticed.

| | | re: Berries 2011 in Somerset We have a great shortage of berries this autumn. No Rowan or Hawthorn anywhere, so if there is a hard cold period ahead then some birds may struggle.
Good autumn berry crops are down to a number of things, such as the ripening of fruiting wood; whether there were frosts when trees were in bloom; the amount of pollinating insects at flowering time etc.
It probably has little to do with the winter to come.
