| | | Re: Flowers and plants for ID I agree with most of the previous posters but I've got a different opinion of two of the plants.
I think 5. may be Grey Willow (Salix cinerea) rather than Goat Willow because the twig seems to be densely hairy.
I think 10. is Sweet-briar (Rosa rubiginosa) because of the glandular hairs on the leaves. |

Does anyone else have any comments?

Having had a closer look at the Rose, I agree that it is very likely Sweet Briar - Rosa rubiginosa. (often easy to miss relevant points when there is a long list to ID!)
With regards to the Willow, both Salix caprea, (Goat W.) and S.cinerea, (Grey W.), have downy twigs. S. caprea tends to loose this down after a short while, (except in the nothern ssp. sphacelata, which keeps the down much longer); whereas S. cinerea holds on to the down until the twig matures.
( S. cinerea ssp. cinerea has even downier twig just to makes things even more interesting!). And of course as with all Willows hybrids should be considered .
So as with all attempts at an ID via a photo, it often has to be just be an informed guess.
One good way to tell the difference between these two rather similar species is to remove some bark from a 2 or 3 year-old twig. Grey Willow's twigs are ridged beneath the bark, in Goat Willow the twigs are smooth.
Dorts.
