| | Unidentified tree fruit - possibly two kinds of pear Found these outside my student halls - first thought the dark one was a Medlar, but on closer inspection I'm thinking two kinds of pear, perhaps cultivars of wild pear? The flesh of the yellow skinned one started a little lighter but darkened after it was cut, and tastes like pear. The darker one was always dark and has a firmer texture, and a richer flavour.
Any suggestion? |

| | | Re: Unidentified tree fruit - possibly two kinds of pear They look like the fruits of ornamental pears, definitely Pyrus. There are several differently coloured ones from brownish red to bright yellow fruits.
