A brand of butter has been giving away herb seeds also in a soak and plant disc. Apparently at a retirement home they ate the discs thinking they were biscuits!

I gave one my son lucky he read the instructions on the packet saying not edible, it looked just like a chocolate biscuit with choc chips in it..
I planted them one was parsley the other was dill..

Just a quick update on the response from DEFRA. They were not particularly happy about it and would prefer that only native wildflowers (and preferably local ones) were distributed in this way. But the only legal restrictions on import are those placed on species listed in part II of schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. (See http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/...dule/9/part/II) It's quite a small list and most of the plants on it are water plants.

A partially-sighted (registered blind) friend of mine bit into his thinking it was a biscuit too!

You don't have to registered blind the writing is that small you cant read it anyway..

I think if you pant the card in your garden and not in the countryside it might be OK as most of the plants in the garden centre are not native but we don't know they are not native until they grow.
