Help please my RSPB Wildlife book says in the index, page 188 Star of Bethlehem, but on page 188 it shows a flower called Ramsoms, it does look a little simular i ask is it another name for Star of Bethlehem thank you...Ray

No two different plants - star of Bethlehem Ornithogalum angustifolium, ransoms or wild garlic Allium ursinum both from the family Liliaceae (last time I looked)

You should!!! Again two and this time completely different plants! Obviously always check the scientific names but that one is unforgivable! Go get Francis rose wildflower key or a collins or something else than that book!

Sounds like the publisher should have employed a competent proof-reader!

Are you sure the index isn't referring to something else, like plate number or illustration number? |

Another development, this is probably my fault, page 188 under Three cornered leek theres a small box that says simular species Star of Bethlehem Ornithogalum nutans, and on page151 under Common Toadflax the same little box says simular species Antirrhinums Snapdragon, albiet in small writing, so it is my fault i will be more careful from now on thank you for your replies...Ray
