May blossom in February
I took this photo while out walking today and would like to know if it's Blackthorn or Hawthorn?

It must be blackthorn, too early for hawthorn. Our blackthorn is still not in flower. But any time now.

Looks like Cherry-plum (Prunus cerasifera). Note the white flowers (blackthorn flowers are off white) and the green young shoots.

Yep, the smooth greenish stems make it Cherry Plum as Tiggrx + Susie says. Both are Prunus species though (Blackthorn that is).

Hi! New to this site but was interested in the May Blossom link!
