| | | Unidentified Plant Hi,
Can anyone please confirm the identity of this plant, photogrpahed on July 7th at Lytham St.Annes Nature Reserve (near Blackpool, Lancs).
The habitat is sand dunes and grasses.
I have been told (by a non-expert) that it may be Viper's Bugloss, but it doesn't look much like any photos I've seen on the internet - there are similarities, but I'm not convinced.
Thanks and Kind Regards

| | | Re: Unidentified Plant I was on a Reserve at St. Annes just a few weeks back, probably the same one, and there was plenty of Self Heal in flower.
By the way Henry, a warm welcome to WAB.

| | | Re: Unidentified Plant So pleased the nature reserve on the sand dunes at St Anne's is getting more viitors. I was once told that you could see at least 80 different wild flowers types there and I am still trying to get to that total on my annual visit.
......not to mention the fabulous orchids (of various types) and Marsh Helloborines to be seen in June.
Would recommend a visit to all

| | | Re: Unidentified Plant Thank you both for the identification. I have now found it in a couple of wild flower books.
And it was nice to hear from a sand-grown 'un too, myself being born in Lytham Hospital (many moons ago, as you can probably see from my user name!)
I'll have to pay regular visits and see how many different plants I can photograph.
Thanks again.
