Apples and Plums

I found these in the middle of nowhere on the edge of a wood, are they truly wild or has someone planted them for a joke cheers...Ray

Could be 'relics'; there are many old orchards around the country far from houses. I have come across similar and found out later that they were planted by the owner of the wood or there was a house nearby not so long ago.

Very unlkely to find an Apple and Plum cultivars growing virtually side-by-side purely by chance.

Could have been a bird dropping.Or a hungry farmer casting away a core.Lots of these round old railway tracks as well.
