| | | 2 flowers for ID This is a small part of the new meadow that we have bought this year:
I am busy trying to identify the plants growing in it.
Is this pignut?
Some sort of pansy:

| | | Re: 2 flowers for ID Looks like Pignut, just going over here now. Always one way to be sure, dig-up a small plant and you should find a hazel-like nut which is quite good eating.
The second plant is Wild Pansy.

| | | Re: 2 flowers for ID Good to see a photo of your field. The photos of the plants don't quite show enough detail but I think yes Pignut and probably Mountain Pansy. Check because some off your white umbellifers could be Spignel. That's a lot of Pignut. Do you have Chimney Sweeper moths up there? |

| | | Re: 2 flowers for ID Hi Dorts - how are you deciding between Wild and Mountain Pansy? I had some trouble and may well be wrong. |

| | | Re: 2 flowers for ID Yes I saw a few Chimney Sweeper moths yesterday morning. Unfortunatly, my camera is needing repair, so I couldnt take any photos.
The pic of the field just shows a small part of the 6 acres. Further up the hill is a boggy area.
