| | | Found a beautiful orchid today Hello everyone.
I found this site while I was researching wild British orchids as I was trying to identify one I found while clearing some ground. Don't worry I didn't clear it. It was such a vibrant pink I certainly couldn't have missed it and looks like a bright pink lollipop.
I was initially unsure whether it was a common spotted or a pyramidical orchid but as the flowers are not spotted I have ruled out the former and now wonder if it's a fully out pyramidical orchid. Or is it something else entirely? Would anyone like to comment and identify it for me?
We've lived in this area in the South of England for 20 years and it's the first time I've come across one here so I was really excited about my find. |

Well without a photo its difficult but it does sound like a pyramidal. Take a look in the orchid Gallery there is bound to be one.
Regards

| | | Re: Found a beautiful orchid today Thanks Ian I already tried that, hence my guesstimate at it's identity. Are they reasonably common?
It appears I can't upload a photo on this post - it says I can only use a Gallery pic - unless you know different or I'm reading the instructions wrong?
I could email it. |

| | | Re: Found a beautiful orchid today Wistful, I think, as Ian has said, that it is most likely a Pyramidal Orchid, as these are.
They are reasonably common, and there are none so pink!
