| | | Advice on which pack to get I have been offered free a choice of two free packs and unsure which one to go for....
The Copse Pack contains 30 native trees which are suitable for planting as a small wooded area or 'copse'. The species are rowan, Silver birch and wild cherry. You will receive 10 of each.....
OR
The hedgerow pack containing 30 plants (6 of each) of the following: Hawthorn, hazel, holly, dog rose and dogwood.
Advice would be very Helpful |

| | | Re: Advice on which pack to get Where are you planting Kym? and for what result
Trees are long term investments
Hedging will show a good result quicker
If you angle the hedging it will produce more shoots and help to give a thicker hedge
Alder in my hedge reached 10 ft in around 3yrs as a rough guide best results came
from some spare Hawthorn and Dogwood "heeled in"and forgotten growing almost
horizontal it reached about 7ft long and the same vertically!plant like this at recommended spacings and you could end up with a super thick hedgerow

| | | Re: Advice on which pack to get In those circumstances I think I'd go for the hedgerow pack, which will give you quicker results for the children with some good colour and berries and will also be good cover for the wildlife. |

| | | Re: Advice on which pack to get hi Kymba, I would be tempted to go for the second choice myself, all are included in Wildlife Freindly plant shopping lists. But I suppose it depends on how young the children are, as they are so prickly - not the children -the shrubs It ill be good for the wildlife which ever you choose and a great way of involving children - good work you are doing Kymba- pat on the back time |
