Unidentified plant/weed

Hi

Hoping you can help me identify this plant in my garden. I've seen it in hedgerows but have been unable to identify it.

The buds in the photo will turn white and it is currently over 6 foot tall.

This is Elder, Sambucus niger. Birds drop the seeds from the berries and every one grows! Leaves smell horrible.

But not the elder-flower cordial that has been slowly filtering in my kitchen for the last few weeks!!

F-in-law used to do a good Elderberry wine too.
