| | | names for 4 flowers if poss please. Hi can anyone id these 4 flowers for me please.
A yellow buttercup?
There are massed carpets of these arround at the moment. But i can't name them.
I Know I ought to know this one. the most important key to its id is that it forms great clumps and every part of it sticks to you like glue. as kids we used to throw the round seed heads at each other. for some reason in the back of my mind i think it is some type of grass. but maybe i have not had enough whisky yet.
Again i thought pea? vetch? goats rue?
But the flowers are white.
All help gratefully appreciated.
regards tn.

| | | Re: names for 4 flowers if poss please. 1. Tormentil - Potentilla erecta.
2. Hedge Bedstraw - Gallium mollugo.
I'm a bit confused by the third plant. Your 1st. pic. shows a plant with 4 pairs of leaflets twice as long as broad, with a terminal tendril.
The last pic shows a plant 'in situ' with 10 or more long, narrow leaflets. So two different plant I'd say.
The last one looks like a very pale Tufted Vetch - Vicia cracca.
Can't 'key-out the other Vetch as yet, could be one of the many 'fodder-vetches/peas'.

regards tn. | Photo's are fine, I'ts just me, I didn't notice the 3rd. plant, (So that made my plant numbers all wrong).
It's Cleavers, sometimes called 'Goosegrass'.
So just to re-cap.
Pics. 1+2 are Tormentil.
Pics. 3,4 + 5 are Hedge Bedstraw.
Pic. 6 is Cleavers.
7,8+9 are the Vetches/Pea I refered to previously.
Hope that makes it a bit clearer.
All the best.
