Alexanders - Smyrnium olusatrum. Usually found not too far from the coast. Once eaten as a vegatable.

Thank you..this was in Maidstone, so not really coastal! I was struck by how stunning the plant looked with the sun shining through the flowers.

The verge was cut yesterday though

Yes,you'll find it is most common nearer to the coast you get, but looking at the most recent distribution map, Maidstone is a 'hot-spot' for it!
