This one looks like Digitalis Purpurea but it doesn't have the white spots.

Ok thanks. Lol I was looking at the flower and had no idea that brambles had nice flowers like that. Oh dear

The Gladiolus is Eastern Gladiolus - Gladiolus communis, rather than our rare native G. illyricus which is now only found in the New Forest.

Brambles cropped up on a radio programme I was listening to today and the nub of it was that recent generations have lost their appreciation of this brilliant plant. I have to ask, are you aware of the delights of the fruit of the bramble?

I hope you'll forgive me for suggesting this but, you may be of a certain generation.
Not that all of the youngsters are ignorant of what we of a certain age take for granted to be common knowledge,but the nub of the item was that kids, and many adults, seem to be largely ignorant of the natural sources of fruit and vegetables etc.
I hope you pass on your obvious appreciation of natures bounty to subsequent generations.In fact I'd be delighted if you'd pass on some of that pie.
