Hi, We found this little yeallow flower ona walk and wondered what it was. Could anyon help. It was found in an acid grassland habitat on the solway coasy and is about 5-10cm long with alternate leaves along the stem. the flower was not open.

Hi Kirsty, a warm welcome to WAB and the 'flower forum'.
I'm afraid without a clear picture of an open flower, I could only hazard a guess as to the ID of your plant.
There are several possibilities, but none obvious, (to me).
Perhaps if you are going back there in a week or two you could get some more pics.?

Might turn out as Toad Flax.A lot of things are early this year.

Definitely looks like a legume + tentatively might be Dyer's Greenweed, Genista tinctoria, perhaps slightly early, but many things are well advanced now. |
