| | | A 'Thank You' pic My dad found this in a field full of daisies. He did tell me what the name for it was, but I have totally forgotten already
I was mesmerised by it, hope it brings something to you. Thought I would share to say thank you for all your help with the Birds Foot Trefoil.

It's called 'fasciation' and can happen to all plants including trees and shrubs. As with the Daisy, it usually causes a flattened stem and mis-shapen flower.
It's not really known what causes it, but some plants, such as Celosia's, (Cocks Combs) are grown commercially for their 'fasciated' flowers.
