| | | is this a rhododendron? hi, we inherited a plant, not sure what it is, maybe a rhododendron.
to my suprise it has 2 types of flower, the red petals which are quite abundant, but recently it's sprouted some little white bell type flowers.
can anyone identify the plant? |

| | | Re: is this a rhododendron? Yes, probably Pieris japonica known as 'Forest Flame' in garden centres, good for bees etc in your garden!
And welcome to WAB!
Cheers

| | | Re: is this a rhododendron? The little red leaves are the new shoots, they grow paler and turn green later on. Bumble bees love the white bell-flowers: they last for weeks.

the striking colour of the new shoots had me fooled into thinking they were flowers. |

yeah, i mentioned those in the original post, i mistakenly thought the new shoots were flowers as well, until Hedera pointed out they're not. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
