Pic 2 is a forget-me-not, probably field forget-me-not Myosotis arvensis.

1. is Blackthorn, (flowers before the leaves). 'May' or Hawthorn to use its common name, flowers after the leaves have emerged.

The "clout" I believe is from a Scots word meaning "cloth" - so keep your winter vest on until the Hawthorn is in blossom!

"Cloutie dumpling" is a sort of fruit cake boiled in a cloth, and families have their own secret recipes handed down through generations. And very yummy they can be too!
