| | | plant id ...possibly easy (but not for me...) Hi
Can anyone help me identify this plant (the photos aren't very good i'm afraid). It produces a mass carpet of white flowers from one plant. I don't know if it's indigenous to the uk or not...but it's really nice! The leaves are white/green (the photos were taken in November in Cumbria.
Thanks...and Happy New Year! |

| | | Re: plant id ...possibly easy (but not for me...) I was going to suggest a rockery cover plant like a sedum or crassula with variegated leaves. Can't think what would be flowering in November "oop north". The red bits look like acer leaves which have fallen.

Clearly a rockery plant, not flowering now I dont think was meant (?) but could be a prostrate Thymus spp, white flowers could fit......................just a thought.
Did it smell like a herb?
Cheers

Thank you very much for the suggestions.
Sorry - I meant it flowers in the summer (and the red leaves have fallen from an acer nearby). I don't think it smells like a herb. Unfortunately I don't have any better photos.
I had a look at photos on the net of the suggestions and I think it may well be a sedum (?) Sedum lineare Variegatum - Carpet Sedum | plants / sukulents, cactuses | About-garden.com
Many thanks for your help, I'm impressed with the kind response!
Cheers

| | | Re: plant id ...possibly easy (but not for me...) Leaves not right for most Sedums, which have fleshy leaves, but Sedum lineare varigatum is an exception with flatter leaves, so could well be right.
Would have flowered long ago.
