Any chance of homing in on the species.

it's pretty much impossible to tell from a photo I'm afraid

so frustrating!

but I must say, lovely photo!

Lester, as leifus has already said, it is very difficult to make a correct ID of your Eyebright from a photo.

However what we can say is that there are generally just two species of Euphrasia found on chalk downland; the rather local , Euphrasia pseudokerneri, and the more common Euphrasia nemorosa. Without more information we should always consider the more common species first, so I will stick my neck out and say it is the latter, Euphrasia nemorosa -Common Eyebright.
