These were taken back in the summer, and got put in the 'Too difficult' bin. Now I can't remember what the plants looked like

My guess at 1. is Common Gromwell, although the number of petals is odd!

Agree with Hedera on no.1 Common Gromwell - Lithospermum officinale
No.2 is difficult as we can't see any leaves and the shape of the petals is unclear. But it looks very much like a Marsh Valerian.

Thanks folks. Checking I find they were both taken on the same day in the same Cotswold wood. Now I know what they are I can go back and do them properly.
Hebera - see what you mean about the number of petals, that family comes in fives. The open flowers all have six, but the half open ones all have five
