This is the only photo i have of this so probably exact species may be out of the question...but you never know? |

| | | Re: [ID] Euphrasia sp Apart from Euphrasia nemorosa, our commonest and most widespread species, most of the others are local or uncommon.
A little more of the plant would help ie. lower leaves, along with the location and habitat of your plant.
As Hedera has said, there are a number of species, some of which are very similar.
It is always advisable to consider the commonest species first.

I guess i was fooling myself to think i could get an id knowing how difficult some can be in "hand" yet alone from a photo. I did take various pics of its leaves etc, but i deleted them.
The area is Unimproved neutral grassland on a SSSI, there is a site list of species found here, but this is just down as Euphrasia officinalis agg.
