| | | Yellow flowered rocket? A crucifer wildflower has appeared in my garden which I have never seen before. The leaves have the same shape and smell (and taste, according to my husband, who dared try it) as edible rocket, but the flowers are bright yellow and much loved by hoverflies. It has been flowering for quite a while and it has bloomed after some time in which lost most of its leaves. Any ideas as to what it might be?

| | | Re: Yellow flowered rocket? There are about a dozen Rockets that grow wild, they all have yellow flowers, many taste good and it could be any one of them.
Why not post a pic. of it and maybe (they can be quite tricky), we can ID it for you?

| | | Re: Yellow flowered rocket? One possibility is Perennial Wall-rocket (Diplotaxis tenuifolia) which is common used in salads under the name "Wild Rocket".
Of course, as Dorts has pointed out, there are a number of other possibilites too. |

| | | Re: Yellow flowered rocket? My suggestion would be to have a look on here (Flora of NW Europe), and then do what I do to try to ID my photos - type the scientific name of each possibility into Google Image. It can take a while, mind you, and isn't always successful |

The more, the merrier!

| | | Re: Yellow flowered rocket? Tigrgx suggestion does seem to fit according to photos in Google. It is funny as I have been trying to get photos of the plant in my garden for a few days, but its flowers are always closed when I come back from work (as it shows in the photo of the plant). The flower photo is from a neighbours.
