My first Medlars

The Medlars in the orchard at work have finally produced fruit. Whoopee!

A great sight to behold Adam.
You have to wait till they are 'rotten' before they are ready to eat! That is, the inner part of the fruit will turn from white to brown and the whole friut will soften; that may take a few weeks yet.
They don't taste of much, I have to say, but I think they make a lovely small tree, and are a great talking point for any garden.

Watch out for the Ring-necked Parakeets as they are partial to them!

Congratulations! Its great when something "arrives" and you have grown it!
I recall a Midsummers Murder episode, and Medlar Jam or Marmalade or Chutney being "very nice" a love of the Inspectors!
