Could anyone help me identify this strange fruit from a very large tree.
It is bigger than a walnut and looks a bit like a human brain or a mass of tiny maggots!! Pale green casing, inside there is no nut or fruit but a milky substance. |

(CM. Do'nt think it's a Fig, they are not 'pale-green' and don't come from large trees).
I've got this friut on the tip of my tongue but just can't get to it. A pic. will sort it.

| | | Re: what is it? It could be a tree from America.Known as Hedge Apple-or Osage Orange-Maclura Pomifera.Grows 10ft. to 60ft.Fruit is inedible wildlife do not like it much either.
