Was this taken in the spring or just recently?
It looks like some form of Crataegus to me (hawthorn-type thing) but whether it's a weird variation or a different species (which I suspect it is) I'm not sure.

| | | Re: Shrub for ID Yes, one of the scarlet Hawthorns. Below is an image of a similar plant, my Pauls double scarlet Hawthorn in my garden earlier this year.
On the other hand it might just be a heavily tinged white variety, I have seen them.

Leif | The photo was taken 17 May 2010. The location was the Oysterbeds, North Hayling. This area is a protected site close to the Hayling Billy route. Quote:
