| | | woodland flowers id Found this flower today, growing againt a tree trunk in a small woodland clearing.
The flowers are waterlogged.There were no leaves i could find unless they were at the very base in the leaf litter,or maybe shown in the photo.Approx 150 mm tall give or take  . |

| | | Re: woodland flowers id It's a Cyclamen, probably hederifolium, which could have had seed transported there by ants from a garden, or a discarded corm. The leaves are there with the marbling pattern on them. Lovely little flower. As it's white it's "album", not the usual pink colour.

| | | Re: woodland flowers id Thanks hedera,that makes sense.its a great little but old wood but has a fair few flower escapes from houses nearby too,it also contains edible morels and other suprises. |

| | | Re: woodland flowers id C. hederifolium is by far the most common of the naturalised cyclamen + flowers at thisa time of year. The other 2 species which sometimes naturalise- C. coum + C. repandum flower in the spring.. The leaves of C. coum are also a different shape.
