I agree, Meadow Foxtail - Alopecurus pratensis.
Timothy Grass - Pleum pratense is very similar to Meadow Foxtail, but generally Timothy is much 'neater', with a more compact, even spike.
Meadow Foxtail comes in many 'forms' having been selectively bred for many years and can appear extremely variable. Much less so with Timothy though the length of spike may vary.

no evidence of awns - and if taken recently it's extremely late for Alopecurus

a closer view would sort it

Hmmm - looks like quite a long spike for Meadow Foxtail? Chris is right, a closer look would be good.
