| | | very small lady's bedstraw? I found this on a sand dune. Could it just be a very small lady's bedstraw in bud?
there were several of them, all about 2cm tall

I was at an alpine plants ID workshop on Saturday, and although the clubmosses weren't releasing spores yet, we were shown one with little yellow blobs just like that, which would develop and release spores in a couple of weeks. It looked very similar to your plant.

| | | Re: very small lady's bedstraw? Good call Audrey - it does look like Lesser Clubmoss - Selaginella selaginoides and from the looks of the other plants in your shot I take it this was in one of the wet-slack areas of the dunes so the habitat is OK.
Where were the dunes Leif? Scotland - it's not a southern species?
