| | | Two garden plants for ID.. Hi,
Since we've moved into our house a few years ago, two plants have been very popular with bees and I wonder if anyone could identify them:
The first is a tall (can grow to 1.5m in height) and has purple flowers along the stem. We call it 'bee-weed' as it can take over, but I would be interested to know the proper name:
The second is a type of lavender, it is considerably more popular than the others in the garden and would like to know what variety it is, so we can get more.
Many Thanks in advance

The first is Purple Toadflax - Linaria purpurea
The White Lavender could be one of the many white varieties now available such as Munstead White, Edelweiss, Blue Ice, Arctic Snow.
Most Lavenders are adored by bees and if you want to be sure to get the same one, why not take some cuttings? It is far more easy than you may think.

Thanks for your suggestion Dort, we have previously tried to take a cutting and failed, but I'll give it another go.
Has anyone succeeded in growing lavender from seeds of another plant. |

If you try cuttings, now is a good time, take unflowered shoots, used a cuttings compost to which you should add some extra sharp sand. They dont like being too damp.
