any Microsoft excel wizards out there?

Not sure where to put this so it's ending up here

yeah I need some help with trying to do a little thing on Excel but can't seem to do it. I've been using excel for years and have become pretty competent with it but this skill (which I will explain in more detail and send an example if anyone can help) still evades me.
