No.1 is a St. John's Wort. Judging by its apparent size, and from what I can see of the stem, I,d go for Hairy St. John's Wort - Hypericum hirsutum
Not easy to tell without seeing some of the details required for a correct ID.
No.2 is Black Mustard - Brassica nigra.

| | | Re: Help with I.D I agree with both. The leaves on the Hairy St.John's wort look very veined and there are some spots.

Hedge Mustard it is. By far the more common species. It was a case of recognising the plant but putting down the wrong name! I think the old brain must be going!

All the best Steve | Steve Hedge Mustard - Sisymbrium officinale is by far the more common of the two and is very distinctive with its many long, wirey stems criss-crossing horizontally. Grows to 1m.
Flowers pale yellow, small 3mm. Whole plant covered in short-fine hairs. Common on waste ground. Black Mustard - Brassica nigra is far less distinct except for its height which can be over 2m. Flowers are yellow and large, 14-16mm. Whole plant greyish-green, more upright with flowering stems at <>45 degree to main stem, not horizontal. Not at all so common. Usually a relic of cultivation.
These yellow flowering members of the cabbage family (and the white ones also), can be quite difficult to ID, it just takes time and not a little patience!.

| | | Re: Help with I.D Brilliant Dorts thanks for the I.D differences as always you’re a great help. Looking in the books I also noticed that the bottom leaves look different ,not sure if that’s anything to go on .
