| | | Random yellow-flowing plant for ID please Hiya
This plant has somehow just "appeared" in the front garden. There's only the 1 and it's not a plant I've seen before so I'm puzzled!
If someone could ID it for me I'd be most grateful! If it helps, the leaves are very "furry" and I'm more than happy to take further photo(s) if requested. Whole plant Flowering head
Many thanks

| | | Re: Random yellow-flowing plant for ID please Wow thanks for the fast answer Jason - I've googled it and it looks like you're right
I had thought it was a weed & it nearly got pulled up but I think I might leave it alone now. Read something interesting about it tho "The entire great mullein plant holds sedative, narcotic properties" Thanks again

| | | Re: Random yellow-flowing plant for ID please Great Mullein,(or Aaron's Rod as it's sometimes called,) great plant for the wildlife garden as it host's the Mullein Moth Cucillia verbasci, the larva of which is a very striking beast.

Looks like there's another plant growing too on the other side of the path to the main plant - guess they like it here!?

| | | Re: Random yellow-flowing plant for ID please You will need to make sure to germinate some seed yourself and plant out the seedlings just in case it doesn't happen naturally. The plant only lives for two years, flowering in the second. Does produce a lot of seed though.
Cheers,
