It looks like a rain-soaked White Clover ( Trifolium repens) |

| | | Re: Confused Thats what i thought, but they were not growing like normal clovers these were growing alone and dotted all over grass really tiny, is there a clover in Shetland that is like this, have googled Shetland websites still |

| | | Re: Confused As Tiggrx has said, it is White Clover. There is no 'special' alternative in Shetland.
However, I do agree that White Clover in marshy ground in the north can be fewer-flowered - probably a native ecotype - and that is what you have here I think.
