| | Flower ID This flower has appeared in my garden, I suspect the guy I used to share the garden with planted it. It's lovely, the stem is about 1m tall with no leaves. |

I,m glad you said that. I used to grow Catananche but for the love of me I could't remember it. Since seeing that flower pic I,ve been 'racking my brains' for that name. Thanks! (Thats what I think it is too.)

We had two come up last year and I transplanted one. It had a big parsnip-like root. The other one is growing well and is over 6 foot now. They produce succession of one-day lasting flowers over a long period, but only one at a time.
