| | | Re: I.D Flowers please The first one is Campanula portenschlagiana, a garden plant; grows in all the cracks of paving.
Second one is a Scilla, maybe siberica.

| | | Re: I.D Flowers please I'll go along with 'Hedera's' 1 & 2.
3 is Phacelia tanacetifolia .
I think it's sometimes called the 'Bee Plant'. |

| | Re: I.D Flowers please Thanks all. Thought they might be garden escapes. Forgot to mention that 2 was in bloom alongside the Snowdrops if that helps with a definite I.D. No3 is odd though as it has been planted en masse in a swathe across some waste ground with some british wild flowers. I assume it's intended to attract Butterflies or Birds. Could this be the case? |

| | | Re: I.D Flowers please (3) attracts beneficial insects such as hoverflies (biological control) I think.
It is also a good source of nectar and pollen for bees, so possibly there are some bee-keepers in that area, or someone else with a vested interest in bees?

The swathe has been deliberately cut & planted with flowering plants so perhaps someone is intending to start producing Beddington park honey. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
