| | | Purple Coneflower Hiya, last summer I planted a Purple Coneflower which did very well. It was going great this year, with many more stems coing up, however in the past few weeks they've been decimated overnight by slugs and snails. I have been going out at night and "dealing" with them, however last night I lost one of my remaining two stems.
I had heard that the plant was not a favourite of slugs or snails, so I am a bit perplexed (and irritated!) by this.
Will it grow in a pot? I understand that it has a tap root, so I guess I'd need a deep pot...
Any ideas? |

| | | Re: Purple Coneflower I've had no success with these in the past. I've bought established plants and grown them from seed and planted them out en masse and they've never survived into a second summer. Slugs and snails love them.
I am having one final go as I have bought some plants and put them into a large pot. I'd be interested to know how you get on if you do the same. |

Looks like I am going to the Garden Centre tomorrow for a new pot | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
