Hello,
Having not found it before, this flower had me baffled for ages so I thought I'd post a couple of pics here in case anyone else has not met it before. Its identity
Fringe Cups,
Tellima grandiflora , in the Saxifrage family, was tucked away in the back pages of my old wildflower book, among non-native introduced species.
Here it is growing beside a sunken lane winding beneath old woodlands on the IoW..
The flowers are, indeed, attractively fringed and further down are turning red..
It's not native, but I like it - an interesting deciduous woodland species.
All the best,
Rob
