id a sedge please..

..at least i think it's a sedge..growing in a south-facing bank of clay (i think) soil above Colwell Bay.
It seems to have a male flower spike at the top, the middle spike with anthers just showing too, and a female spike at the bottom.
My best (and worst) guess is Glaucous Sedge, Carex flacca..

it's not easy from a photo but you could well be right although you should consider Carex caryophyllea

Yes, both appear to be frequent on a range of soil types on the IoW, so it could be either,
