| | | Canadian wildflower id I know that this is a British forum and I'm being a bit cheeky posting this here but I saw this flower when I was in Nova Scotia, Canada a few years a go and have been trying to identify it ever since without success.
It was in a hemlock forest and stood up much higher from the other plants on the forest floor.
Any suggestions as to even what family of plants this could be in would be really helpful.
I'm really sorry if I have broken some rule by posting this here. I couldn't see anything to say that non-British flowers couldn't be posted.
Thanks. |

| | | Re: Canadian wildflower id I've no idea what your flower is, but when I was stuck trying to ID some shots I'd taken in Canada, I emailed About Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre
who were very helpful.
Oak Hammock Marsh is near Winnipeg and if anyone visits southern Canada, I'd heartly recommend a visit to this reserve. It's brilliant & big!!!! |

| | | Re: Canadian wildflower id Your plant looks as if it is a member of the Lily family. The trientalis flowers are white or pinkish, small starry flowers which don't turn into berries. The green "petals" are similar to our native Herb Paris which also has berries.

Tiggrx I think you are indeed correct. Thank you so much. It's great to finally know what it is after all this time and to be able to find out some more about it. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
