Hi all

I normally get some ivy-leaved toadflax growing in my oak plantpot, and there's something been growing there again, and i thought it was the toadlflax again. however i've had a look today and it's flowered now and i thought it looked a bit weird for toadflax.

Am i right in thinking this is Early Dog Violet Viola reichenbachiana, or possibly Sweet violet V. odorata??? The leaves seem a bit small for the latter.


also growing in a few pots is this, not in flower yet but am i right in thinking Shining cranesbill Geranium lucidium??? i thought this due to the 5 seperate lobes on the leaves.

The first looks like a Common Dog-violet (Viola riviniana) and you are right about the Shining Crane's-bill
