Only one type of snowdrop is native as far as I know, and of course butterbur, but I think, apart from dandelions, which can appear at any time, the next splash of yellow should be the coltsfoot, closely followed by lesser celandine. I don't think there are any native crocuses in Britain are there? And if there were they would flower in autumn, not spring. Primroses came out three days ago in my garden. Very late season!
Interesting PS probably the reason why coltsfoot and butterbur haven't been cultivated is because of the size of their leaves. |
