| | | Toadflax for ID I'd welcome some opinions on the identity of this plant, a pavement-crack weed from Bristol; it's not a great photo, because it was taken a couple of years ago.
For a long time I had it down as Annual Toadflax ( Linaria maroccana), but it's since been suggested to me that it might be Roadside Toadflax ( Linaria aeruginea), which looks to be extremely rare in the wild in Britain. It is grown in gardens, though, and the only picture I can find on Google Image seems a reasonable match.
But, I'm still not sure - what do people think? |

| | | Re: Toadflax for ID It looks similar to a plant which I have grown under the name Linaria nevadensis, which I think is really called L. aeruginea ssp. nevadensis. However, my plant is generally more prostrate. It generally comes as a mix of colours and I have seen it sold with variety names such as "Elfin Delight", "Grenada Sol" and "Gemstones".
Wild L. aeruginea ssp. aeruginea as I have seen it does not look much like your plant | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
