Hazel Coppice

I am a retired thatcher looking to produce hazel spars for thatchers in the midlands. Can anyone help me find a coppice where i can cut or a supply that I could buy, thanks Joe.

Hi there.

If you have no joy on here, i would suggest you contact your local Wildlife Trust. They should be able to get you a contact, many of the Trusts will be managing coppice for Dormouse, Charcoal making etc.

joe - which bit of the midlands ? - I can put you in touch with a woodland manager in the rockingham forest.

also you could look on Bodgers.org - bodgers Resources and Information. as a lot of them manage woods , and/or contact the small woods association.

and finally contact nick gibbs at freshwood publishing and see if you could get a bit of editorial in "living woods" about your project - you'd probably then get more offers than you can handle ( I know nick so pm me with your contact info and i'll pass it on. )
