| YES, for you Leifus - it is, as I have written several times, an awful book
for beginners, IMHO.
If you don't have a Stace, you will need one sometime!! Can usually be picked up 2nd hand via amazon or "Abe books". No pictures though apart from a very few line drawings. |

Yes I've flicked through a copy of Stace before and it seems very complicated at first but I'm sure I'd get used to it eventually. That's the next step up...

Your knowledge of botany should see you through the early stages of
Stace I'd have thought. Personally I find it too much like hard work, as
I usually go wrong on a couplet and get lost, then cross - picture matching
is easier but I'm not into surveying, just enjoying wildlife spotting.
But a course on using a flora for botanical surveying may be something for
the future - do you know anyone in the field locally who knows you skill level
and can advise you. From your postings, you skill level is already high. |
