Dear All,
I am in the season of doing voluntary habitat management projects. A new project has just come to light so the total projects I now do is 11. Anyone who can come out and help out is much appreciated.
This is the list of projects;
Shepherds Needle at its third site at Raunds in Northamptonshire
Field Garlic at its only site in Warwickshire near Bearley
Bicolor Bee Orchid at its 4th UK site in Warwickshire (a roadside site)
Wasp Orchid on the Fosse Way in Warwickshire
Field Cow Wheat at its only Bedfordshire site near Brogborough
Fringed Gentian at its only UK site in Bucks
Lizard Orchid on a roadside site just Northeast of Bristol, Gloucestershire
Downy Woundwort at two Oxfordshire sites
Tower Mustard south of Gerrards Cross in Bucks and close to the M50 on a minor road in Gloucestershire
Man Orchid at its only Warwickshire site
I have done a number of these projects already for this year however help will be needed for the Lizard Orchid which I do in early Feb. At the moment there is still the Bicolor bee orchid site to do.
These projects will be done each year and anyone who can help out then that will be great. It usually involves cutting saplings down, raking off grass cuttings and placing them in piles off the plants, disturbing the ground via creating open plots, it all depends on what needs doing for that particular species. Please get in contact for further details.
Many thanks.
Brian Laney.
