| | | Berry delicious! I am doing some research into birds and berries, and I came across a few berry laden bushes/trees that I have been unable to ID.
This is a close-up of a beautiful, large tree in my local cemetery:
This is a bush in a wildlife garden, the black berries are being eaten by a Song Trush (at the bottom of the image)
The berries of this medium-sized (like a hawthorn in looks) tree are loved by Woodpigeons

I have a different photo of n.2 just in case it helps. Could it be some sort of Privet (I cannot think of anything else with this kind of berries)?
This is a photo of the tree (n.1) I couldn't upload yesterday, it was such a beautiful tree, I'll try to take a photo of it in bloom next spring.

| | | Re: Berry delicious! Hi
number 2 looks like Buckthorn Rhamnus cathartica. There are some wicked spines in there I think. The tree number 1 reminds me of a Hawthorn, so I'm guessing an ornamental or exotic Hawthorn.

| | | Re: Berry delicious! Sorry, I didn't mean to say number 1 from your first post is a Hawthorn. That's a Sorbus as thebeard says. So it's picture 3 in your first post that looks like an ornamental Hawthorn. Picture 2 is Buckthorn.

| | | Re: Berry delicious! Your first tree is Orange-berried Whitebeam, Sorbus croceocarpa - the berries are loved by birds, so it's become naturalised in a few places. I found one this summer growing on the sea wall at Burnham Norton in Norfolk, about half a mile from the nearest other tree of any description. |
