| | | Re: Nice autumnal colour, but help to id please! The leaves are of a berberis. I'd guess the berries are some kind of sorbus but hopefully someone with a better eye will be along to give a more certain ID.

| | | Re: Nice autumnal colour, but help to id please! The first one looks like Thunberg's Barberry (Berberis thunbergii). No. 2 is actually a Crataegus, cockspur-thorn, not a Sorbus, and I'd say it was Broad-leaved Cockspur-thorn (Crataegus persimilis).
They're both occasionally naturalised from bird-sown fruit, as well as being very popular in roadside plantings etc. |

| | | Re: Nice autumnal colour, but help to id please! For the berberis I would suggest thunbergii, which has the brightest autumn colouring. Looks as though the leafcutters liked it too.
There are dozens of sorbus so difficult to pin down: size and shape of tree, location etc needed. |
