Thanks leifus. | I've got a couple of photos of Early Spider Orchid from Durlston Country Park in my Diary thread (it's far from rare, actually, in the right habitat) but that's the only one of the list I've ever seen
Try Google Image - there ought to be decent photos of most, if not all, of them online |

| | | Re: Rare flowers Hopefully by the end of next season I'll have managed most of them (possibly not Wood Calamint, because I've no plans to go to the Isle of Wight). At the moment a lot of the plants on my list are aliens, and I'll probably have even more of those next year, but I'm planning to have a serious go for the native rarities too.
Theory is, if I can get information on the locations, it shouldn't be that difficult. At the moment I'm trying to see if I can organise a February trip to Stanner Rocks to see Early Star-of-Bethlehem (Gagea bohemica) - apparently the only way is to be led by the warden. |
